Mapping the Lake

I decided to work with Google My Maps to point out some key pieces to Lake Shenandoah and it's pollinator Trail. I was able to create multiple layers separating the two parts of the trails, key habitats, and then images of views and signage that Percy and I discovered along our walk.

Layer 1 - indicates our pollinator trail and entrance in yellow

Layer 2 - indicates the lake itself, the boat ramp, and the lake habitat

Layer 3 - indicates the Lake Shenandoah trail as well as the wetland and forest habitats that you experience along your walk

Layer 4 - shows images of signages and views along the walking path

I highly encourage using Google My Maps as a tool for anyone wishing to indicate locations of importance. It was easy to navigate and is fairly user-friendly. While the "line" tool did not always work as well as I would like and the "walking route" tool only follows along main roads, it allowed me the opportunity to highlight the full trail with ease. Please enjoy exploring my study site, and you will see a familiar face in pictures along the way.
